COMPOSITION

DESCRIPTION

Ivermectin is a member of the macrocyclic lactone class of endectocides which have a unique mode of action. It is a potent antiparasitic agent with activity against internal and external parasites. It is used for the treatment and control of gastrointestinal nematodes and lungworms in sheep, goats, cattle and horses, as well as internal and external parasites in poultry and pigeons.

 

INDICATIONS

VETKOMEC ORAL is indicated for endo- and ectoparasitic infections in sheep, goats, cattle, horses, poultry and pigeons caused by parasites susceptible to ivermectin. VETKOMEC ORAL is indicated for:

Poultry: internal parasites (nematodes, Capillaria spp. (crop worm) and Ascaridia spp.) and external parasites like mite and lice infestations.

Sheep:  Gastrointestinal worms (adult and immature) Cooperia spp, Haemonchus contortus, Ostertagia circumcinta, Trichostrongylus spp, Nematodirus spp, Oesophagostomum spp., Strongyloides papillosus and adult Chabertia ovina.

Lung worms (adult and immature) Dictyocaulus filaria. Nasal bot (all larval stages), Oestrus ovis.

Goats: Gastrointestinal worms (adult and immature) Haemonchus contortus, Nematodirus spathiger, Oesophagostomum, Ostertagia  circumcincta, Strongyloides papillosus, Trichostrongylus colubriformis and adult Chabertia ovina.

Lung worms (adult) Dictyocaulus filaria.

Calves and cattle: Gastrointestinal worms (adult and immature) Ostertagia spp, Cooperia spp, Haemonchus placei, Trichostrongylus axei, Oesophagostomum spp, Nematodirus spp, Strongyloides spp, Bunostomum phlebotomum, Toxocara spp. Lungworms: Dictyocaulus viviparus.

Horses: Strongylus vulgaris (adult and arterial larval stages), S. edentatus (adult and tissue stages), S. equinus (adults), Triodontophorus spp. (adults), Cyathostomum, Cylicocylus spp., Cylicostephanus spp., Cylicodontophorus spp., Gyalocephalus spp. (adults and non-inhibited mucosal larvae), Parascaris equorum (adults and larvae), Oxyuris equi (larvae), T. axei (adults), Strongyloides westeri (adults), Habronema spp. (adults), Onchocerca spp. (microfilariae),

Dictyocaulus arnfieldi (adults and larvae), Gastrophilus spp. (larvae).

 

CONTRA-INDICATIONS

Do not administer in case of hypersensitivity or resistance to Ivermectin. Do not administer to other animals than recommended. Severe adverse reactions, including fatalities in dogs, may occur.  Do not use in pregnant animals.  

Do not administer to cows during the lactating period.

Do not use in breeders in production or layers producing eggs for human consumption.

 

SIDE EFFECTS

None.

 

PRECAUTIONS

Wash hands carefully after using this product.

 

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

For oral administration. Shake well before use.

Poultry                          : 1 ml per 5 liters of drinking water, for 2 days. Repeat treatment after 3 weeks.

                                       (1 ml per 15 birds or 0.25 - 0.32 mg per kg bodyweight).

Pigeons                         : 1 ml per 5-6 liters of drinking water, for 2 days. Repeat treatment after 3 weeks.

Horses                           : 1 ml per 50 kg bodyweight.

Cattle, sheep, goats     : 0.2 ml per 10 kg bodyweight. For control of ectoparasites repeat treatment the following day.

Medicated water should be the only source of water. Mixed with drinking water, use the product within 24 hours.

 

WITHDRAWAL PERIOD

Meat      : 14 days.

 

STORAGE

Store in a dry and dark place between 8 °C and 25 °C.

Store in closed packing. Keep medicine away from children.
