VETKO IRONJECT 20% + B12 INJ.
Contains per ml:
Iron (as iron dextran) 200 mg
Vitamin B12 (Cyanocobalamin) 200 µg
VETKO IRON 20% + B12 INJ. is used for prophylactic and treatment of iron deficiency caused by anaemia in piglets and calves. Parenteral administration of iron has the advantage that the necessary amount of iron can be administered in one single dosage. Cyanocobalamin is used for prophylactic and treatment of by cyanocobalamin deficiency caused anaemia.
VETKO IRON 20% + B12 INJ. is indicated for prophylaxis and treatment of anaemia due to iron deficiency, hemorrhages and other problems of hemotopose in calves and piglets. The addition of vitamin B12 is recommended especially in erythropoiesis in piglets.
Do not administer to animals with vitamin E deficiency. Do not administer to animals with diarrhoea. Do not administer in combination with tetracyclines.
Pain and inflammatory reactions, as well as abscess formation at the injection site can occur.
Sudden death may occur.
Intramuscular iron injections give rise to persistent discolouration of the muscle tissue..
INCOMPATIBILITY WITH OTHER DRUGS
Do not administer simultaneously with tetracyclines in connection with the interaction of iron with
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
For intramuscular injection. Shake well before use.
Calves : 2 - 4 ml in the first week after birth.
Piglets : 1 ml at 3 days of age, or 0.5 ml at 3 days of age followed by 0.5 ml one week after first administration.
100 ml multidose vial (48 vials per box).
