Antipyrine                                             1.31        g

 

DESCRIPTION

Diminazene diaceturate is an antiprotozoal and antibacterial active against the blood-protozoa babesia, piroplasmosis

and trypanosomiasis in in cattle, sheep, goats, horses, camels, pigs, dogs and cats. Antipyrine which is also known as phenazone is an analgesic and antipyretic.

 

INDICATIONS

VETKO DIMINAZENE is indicated prevention and treatment of protozoan diseases in cattle, sheep, goats, horses, camel, pigs, dogs and cats.

VETKO DIMINAZENE is effective against: -

- Trypanosomosis caused by Trypanosoma congolense, T. vivax, T. brucei, T. evansi and T. equiperdum.

- Piroplasmosis caused by Babesia bovis, B. bigemina, B. ovis, B. motasi, B. divergens, B. caballi, B. equi, B. gibsoni and B. canis

- Theileriosis caused by Theileria annulate.

 

CONTRA-INDICATIONS

Hypersensitivity to Diminazene or Antipyrine. Do not administer in animals with impaired renal

and/or hepatic functions.

 

SIDE EFFECTS

Intramuscular injection can cause pain reaction. Hypersensitivity reactions may occur, e.g. anaphylactic shock.

 

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

For deep intramuscular administration.

Treatment of piroplasmosis and trypanosomosis caused by T. Congolense and T. vivax:

Reconstitute solution by dissolving 2.36 g of VETKO DIMANAZEN in 15 ml sterile water to obtain a ready-to-use 7% diminazene diaceturate solution.

1 ml per 20 kg body weight (2.36 g sachet of VETKO DIMINAZENE is sufficient for 300 kg).

Treatment of trypanosomiasis caused by T. brucei and theileriosis caused by Theileria annulate:

1 ml per 10 kg body weight (2.36 g of VETKO DIMINAZENE is sufficient for 150 kg)

Do not exceed a total dose of 4 g of active ingredient in any animal.

Repeat treatment only on advice of your veterinarian.

Divide large volumes injections over 2 separate sites.

Inject dogs strictly according to body mass. Overdosage or repeated dosing may cause central nervous symptoms in dogs.
